MINIT MESYUARAT PEKOMIK 2007

· PeKOMIK: stands for Penggiat (pelukis, penulis dll) & Peminat KOMIK Malaysia. This term we will submit to Dewan Bahasa & Pustaka (DBP) to make it official and legit in Kamus Dewan.

OUTCOME:

The purpose of this meeting is to plan from NOW (proposal or paperwork) for upcoming activities / event / action for PeKOMIK. Also to delegate job task among the committee to speed up PeKOMIK by April 2007 once it is official.

AGENDA:

1. Current status of peKOMIK by Azhar.

Jabatan Pendataran will approved our peKOMIK by April. By April we are official and ready to go PUBLIC. We have until April to finalise our proposal (funding /sponsorship) and LOGO (will finalised by Salim, Gemuruh & Alan)

2. Pekomik account status. Attention to: Fy & Faisal

Waiting for PeKOMIK approval by Jabatan Pendaftaran ( No. Pendaftaran). Once we get our No. Pendaftaran( Cover letter) Fy will open PeKOMIK account with Maybank. Then (Fy&Faisal) will collect the membership fee.

3. PeKOMIK registration form and membership (membership benefit).

Attention to: Secretary/ account dept.

Faisal is preparing the PekOMIK Membership Registration Form ( Mr Hafidz will do the final copywriting). For the time being, Sect and Archive dept will invite unofficial membership for our database.

As per discussion in order to prepare PeKOMIK brochure & Pekomik registration form. We need to highlight the benefit of PeKOMIK:

- members will get Pekomik Buletin( newsletter). All members are invited to contribute to PeKOMIK Bulletin. If we manage to get sponsorship (proposed: MDEC, KeKKwa, DBP, PTS, Marshall Cavendish, Digi) we target to have our annual PeKOMIK magazine by end of this year.

- Priority and special price for any workshop/ seminar organise by PeKOMIK.

- Members can showcase their artwrk/ website thru PeKOMIK.com or PeKOMIK Malaysia Komik Artist Guide.

- Members can exhibit their artwork thru Comic Art exhibition organise or co-organise by PeKOMIK.

- With PeKOMIK, they can help to promote themselves and promote local comic scene nationally and internationally and be proud of it.

- Also a place to gather not just comic artist or local comic fan but also writers, inkers, colorist etc as long as they involve in a comic scene.

- A place to gather comic enthusiasts, peKOMIK and to get to know each other.

- Will have a special gathering or dinner.

- PeKOMIK will prepare a guideline to local KOmik scene in terms of copyright/ publishing / printing etc.

- Welfare for peKOMIK (members)

- Discount on selected local comic/magazine. PeKOMIK will also be a distributor ( for members). (Need somebody to prepare this proposal: Wan Zu?)

- Boosting job opportunity for members.

- PeKOMIK will be a body who prepare clause and guideline for PeKOMIK right.

- Members automatically will be on PeKOMIK database.

- Members automatically can access/sign up PeKOMIK.com forum.

4. Content of pekomik.com

Attention to: all & web dept..

At the moment we are using wordpress server. Emio & Mysticmind will develop pekomik.com and we need more moderator. Any volunteer?

Emio is going to invite all committee to pekomik.com. All committee are welcome to post(news/article) at pekomik.com

5. Pekomik fund & Sponsorship.

Need somebody to prepare the proposal template for us to approach any government body / private company ( DIGI, MAXIS,MDEC, KEKKWA, Maybank, Bank Negara,) ETC.

- approach big company as social obligation/responsibility

- thru colour competition, contest

- advertisement space in pekomik.com, newsletter & Majalah PeKOMIK.

6. Need for pekomik Graphic Department.

To assist newsletter & Majalah PeKOMIK deptmnt. The committee agreed to have this department for future nessecity for peKOMIK.

Graphic department: EnSalim, Gemuruh & 39 (Zuraizee)

7. Event for the year 2007:
   1. Azhar was approach by the Malaysia Game development Association. From the meeting, the Gamers need a list of comic artist that they can refer to. Outcome: to prepare a list of comic artist/database with sample artwrk: Directrory /catalog of Malaysia comic artist.

Meeting decided to have a link to all members blog/website.

For those wanna post their website link please do so by giving your link to emio.

As for Pekomik komik artist guide in pdf format. Please submit your particular and sample work to DATAbase department.

En. Mansur Ibrahim & Nurie please prepare Submission Guideline Pekomik Malaysia guide.

7. 2. Meeting with DBP will be held on Friday.23/2/07. DBP do have a fund and willing to collaborate with pekomik. They need a proposal.

7. 3. PeKoMIK magazine/newsletter. Update and showcase of local & international scene. Need to discus the content of the mag and its publishing format: pdf /limited edition for members etc.

- Annual or fortnightly. If printed, are there any publishers willing to sponsor? (PTS, Marshal Cavendish etc).

- Target released etc.

d. 24hour comic day book is in the process to be sponsored by MDEC. It will be a limited edition book. Sales from the book will be going into peKOMIK fund. Refer to Cedric.

7. 4. Malaysian comic Art exhibition. A showcase of local comic art talent. Proposed venue: Balai Seni Lukis Negara, Galeri Petronas, Galeri Shah Alam. Can Abang Lefty & Kinsun prepare the proposal

7. 5. PeKOMIK to participate/ open a booth to any event such as Comic Fiesta, Laman Seni..etc. Committees are welcome to propose venue.

Some suggestion in thru IPT/ colleges.

7. 6. MBPJ are opening a new college. They are interested on doing seminar and short course on comic art. Pekomik will involve 100% or as consultant. Will discuss more. The college required us to prepare the proposal.

Actually it is MBSA Community centre. They have a building for art scene called Creative Art & Design Centre ( next to Sunway Pyramid)

Person in charge: Azhar will try to have a pekomik centre there.

7. 7. Preparing a proposal of collaboration between pekomik and MDEC, also a proposal to enquire funding or grant with MDEC.

- Need to discuss on the content of the proposal.

- Eg: objective of the collaboration, objective of the grant, to co-organise MDEC event such as MSC comic pitch & promotion.

URGENT!

Mdec GONNA meet us on 15^th MAC at Summit USJ.

During the meeting, we can’t have the time to discuss this.

I need help to prepare this proposal. A proper proposal what we need from MDEC and what do they got in retutn.

I personally need help for this proposal from:

En Hafidz, Cedric, Alan, Kromosom, Ajif and everyone is open to give their idea

7. 8. Preparing KL KOMIKON proposal.

- Proposal need to be prepared for MDEC & KeKKwa (Kementerian Kebudayaan & Kesenian Warisan). With this proposal, the objective is to get their support and funding for the event.

- For the KOMIKON, there’s an interest from Festival Laman Sdn. Bhd. ( event management company) to do manga & anime event. And we pekomik will co –organise the event. With event management their intention is 100% profit.

- Open for discussion on doing the event: either pekomik will co-organise wth event Management Company or be a stratergic partner or be the main organiser.

- In order to prepare for the proposal to mdec by March. We need to prepare the proposal ASAP.

- Is the event for free or need to be charge?

Cedric suggest that we hold on doing komik convention this year as we are not strong and ready yet. But I need a proposal for KeKKWA, what can peKOMIK collaborate with them.

My intention is to have a small pekomik event by dec2007 to showcase local comic artist n local comic.

8. other issues : no other issues as the meeting cut short cut after 3 hrs
